We present a 20-year-old male who was admitted with Womens l/s skimmer tee recurrent fevers.He was diagnosed with Haemophilus parainfluenzae mitral valve endocarditis with severe regurgitation and perforated leaflet.H.
parainfluenzae was resistant to ceftriaxone Selenium but repeated sensitivities showed a sensitive organism.Despite endocarditis caused by H.parainfluenzae is rare, physicians should be vigilant of such diagnosis.
Antibiotics sensitivity may be questioned if shows a resistant organism.
